Extra extra read all about the Craic this Christmas

We thought you'd like to get a taste of what's happening here and in the community over the festive period so feel free to browse, download and/or share our latest community newsletter as widely as possible.

In addition, our incredible staff and Irish Community Associations volunteers (from the GAA teams, Leeds CCE, the dance schools and many more incredibly selfless people) are busy distributing over 500 craic packs as we speak featuring Irish foodstuffs, a Christmas gift, winter warmth products, the newsletter, messages of support from local school children and much more. A great tonic to see people through these uncertain times. Thank you to the Ireland Fund of Great Britain, Leeds City Council and all those who have fundraised to make this happen. And recently we've had 2 more amazing cash donations from business people in Leeds to support this and future craic pack initiatives. We are truly humbled by your support.

On Monday 6th December we also held our first community Christmas party since 2019, welcoming the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Asghar Khan and Vice-Consul Carina O'Brien from the Consulate General of Ireland in the North of England as our special guests. As well as old friends we were able to welcome our friends from the Jamaica Society Leeds. Leeds Comhaltas Ceoltori Eireann and children from the Holy Rosary and St Anne's Primary School provided entertain to us and a visit from Santa saw everyone leave very happily.

And on our 25th anniversary we were able to mark a special thank you to Helena who has entrusted us with her care since we started. Helena said that without the support from LIHH she would not be here today. You can't really get much more of an accolade than that can you?

Here are some pictures from the event.
