We have the following vacancies:

We are currently recruiting for our service, Aran Home Support, and are looking for warm, caring people, who can embrace our ethos of care, culture and community to deliver high quality support to people with dementia or memory loss in their own homes.

Ideally candidates should have:

  • An understanding of dementia and its impact on the individual and their family
  • A mature outlook and ability to relate to older people
  • A patient, kind and caring nature
  • Good listening skills
  • Good writing skills and have good spoken English
  • An understanding of what being culturally sensitive means
  • A Skills for Care Certificate and/or experience of caring for someone with dementia
  • An aptitude for learning and willingness to develop new skills
  • A clean driving licence and use of a car 

In return Leeds Irish Health and Homes offer a minimum hourly rate of £8.68 per hour, sick pay, holiday pay, mileage expenses, pension, relevant training, supervision, guidance and support.

Housing Support Worker

We are recruiting a Housing Support Worker

Salary: £21,074 (pro-rata-actual salary £8,430)
Hours: 14 hours per weekContract: 1 year Permanent contract

Base: LIHH

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • To provide housing related support to vulnerable people living in our supported tenancies with a diversity of support needs.
  • To provide a flexible, supportive and responsive service to service users to help them achieve the optimum degree of independence.
  • To ensure the service is delivered effectively, that it is efficient and sensitive to people’s needs.

CARA Community Connector

We are currently recruiting  a part-time worker for our CARA service
Salary: £21,074 (pro-rata-actual salary £8,430)Hours: 14 hours per week

Contract: 1 year Permanent contract

Base:  LIHH

THE PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • To connect isolated and lonely older Irish people both culturally and socially through creating friendship links and projects to enable them to take part fully in their community.
  • To engage with the local Irish community, churches, day centres and similar to identify isolated and lonely Irish older people in order to develop a network of support. 
  • To work collaboratively with our Irish community support service. 
  • To ensure the service is delivered effectively, that it is efficient and sensitive to people’s needs whilst addressing the outcomes required
